I DID NOT DO THIS SPOT. I’M POSTING AS INSPIRATION AND TO SHOW OFF OTHERS GREAT WORK.
SEGA and their ad agencies helped redefine video-game advertising and then Sony and its agencies helped refine it.
Here’s a great example of a spot for the PlayStation 2 that appealed to a large demographic. Captivating in it’s visual delivery, with a very interesting choice of music, this spot helped draw the viewer in.
This was aired during the time the perception of video game systems was changing. Ads and branding like this helped change the idea of video games from a “loner 11 year old boy” activity to a mainstream billion-dollar a year industry.

Being part of the media sometimes has its perks. Here’s a pass for a media event at Walt Disney World. This was an enormous event over an entire weekend. The media preview showcased the opening of Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Disney Quest. In addition, the event had sneak peaks of Mulan, which was created in Orlando, Florida on the backlot of Walt Disney World. There haven’t been many media events that I’ve been to that have been to this scale, we were treated very well.
Here’s a video that showcases how limited budget, quick turnaround, and a collaborative effort can sometimes spark really great creative content. This series of spots was conceived during a lunch meeting with the entire creative team. All different types of ideas were thrown around and this spot shows the concept we all came up with. While simple in presentation, it is very strong in conveying the message. It was shot right in the creative house and the entire campaign was turned around in less than a week. The campaign generated great buzz and respectable ratings.
The series of spots went on to earn honors from Promax BDA with a Gold award and numerous Ad Federation awards on the local, regional and national level.
Nothing beats a true collaborative effort with your creative team.
Here’s a still from a generic promotion for a sports news program that covered the Cleveland Browns. It was produced for Sportstime Ohio. Using footage from an actor getting gear on in a licker room and then composited into a stylized environment.
I finally have a little bit of time to post, it’s has been too long. I will try to keep up with my posts.
Here is a still from a image promotion reliving 20 years of seminole football history on a broadcast sports network. We composited many different historical figures and plays throughout the 20 year history moving along a “virtual” timeline that culminated to the final branding screen.
The spot went over well and had a great feel to it.
I DID NOT DO THIS, I JUST WANT TO SHOW OFF OTHERS GREAT WORK.
While this isn’t a broadcast promotion or commercial, it is a collection of beautiful imagery that anyone in our business can get inspired from. What’s amazing is that it was all shot with the new Canon digital STILL camera the 5D mark II. Enjoy
Here’s a brochure for a start-up football league that never played a game, the PSFL. However, they did hire staff, draft players and have training camp for all the teams in the league. I was hired to oversee video operations for the Carolina Cougars and was in Cocoa Beach with my staff for training camp. It was exciting and fun the first few weeks until we found the entire team was getting kicked out of the hotel because the bills were not paid, I can laugh about that now. The entire team was relocated to our offices in South Carolina to finish out training camp and await word from the league as to what was going on. During the next few weeks I worked along side the GM, Roman Gabriel, who was a really good guy and honest about the situation. After a week or two the league and teams were finally disbanded after funding fell through. We all got a letter that mentioned it would start again next year, that didn’t happen either.
All though the experience was nerve racking at the time, it was also a lot of fun, and a risk that I’m glad I took. In my opinion, within the media and sports industries you often have the greatest success when you take big risks. Yes, we have to play it safe a great deal of times, but, we must take calculated risks to achieve the greatest amount of success.
Please note that this is a brochure that was handed out and created by the league. I’m posting it so those who are not aware of the PSFL can get an idea of how close the league was to starting up. I did not oversee the creation of the brochure, I was in charge of video operations for the Carolina Cougars.
Here’s a still from one of the Orlando Magic Television Network image campaigns that I wrote and produced. This was a very fun campaign to do and one of the reasons was the player in the image, Bo Outlaw. I’ve worked with numerous athletes throughout my career and Bo Outlaw was one of my favorite to work with. He is one of the most genuine and nice individuals I’ve had the pleasure to work with. Another thing that stuck out during this production was how loose and fun he was, until the lines needed to be read. The concept was more of a “dramatic” feel centering on being part of the team. You could really feel his passion for the game and his team when he read his lines.
Writing and producing promotions for the all the Star Trek series I got to work with a bunch of great talent. Here’s a still from an interview and liner session with Rene Auberjonois. A very accomplished actor and a great talent to work with.
