Here is a still image from a pay per view spot that I created for an NCAA football match-up.

Cleveland Indians Spring Training Episodic Promotion
Here’s a still from a Cleveland Indians spring training promotion I produced in 2007. We got this request with a very tight deadline, so, we headed out to a local baseball field to get beauty shots. In addition, we scoured stock footage houses for snowy and dreary imagery to provide contrast to the sunny, green and lush baseball field. The spot was a welcome to spring and baseball. After showing all this sunny footage to welcome spring, say goodbye to the cold weather and welcome back baseball in the spots, the first few games at home were snowed out… Talk about irony.

Orlando Magic Episodic Promotion
For a few years I was in charge of all Orlando Magic episodic, image, contest, and POP spots on the Magic TV network. I launched the Orlando Magic on our network, which was quite hectic but fun. Most of the episodics we produced were originals, not bag and tag generic spots with the match up at the end. I tried to come up with weekly or monthly theme based spots, depending on the match-ups coming up. It added to our workload and was quite a bit of work, but, the extra effort paid off in the networks best ratings to date.
This is an image from just one of the numerous spots that we did promoting the Orlando Magic.

Southwest Airlines Cross Promotion
Southwest Airlines partnered with one of our news magazine programs. Here’s a still from one of the cross-promotional spots that were created. These spots were seamlessly intertwined with the programs graphic package, giving the show and the sponsorship a consistent feel.

Disney Quest – Interstitials
This was a very fun project to produce. I worked with Disney marketing to build awareness and show off Disney Quest and to use to help promote a block of kids programming. I decided on going with a game show production, bringing in viewers to compete on the games at the venue. I also cast a duo of two great young actors to host the events and provide bumps, opens, teases, and promos for the event.
I utilized quite a few cameramen and crew to capture the multiple teams competing simultaneously. The production took place during the week and at a non-peak time, so, we pretty much had the run of the place and everyone that was there enjoyed watching the friendly competition.
Another great crew on a fun production.

Red Lobster Contest Cross Promotion
Red Lobster wanted to partner with our network and NBA programming to cross-promote their restaurants. As always seems the case, there was limited time to get the spots together for air. I wanted a “pirate broadcast” look, so, we took over our engineering department, scattered some loose parts around, and brought in talent to be “the hacker.” Once we were done with shooting, the material was then edited into one of our episodic promos, breaking into the promo using static from a badly positioned satellite receiver, The spots did well, created buzz, and all partners were happy.

Network Upfront Presentation
Here’s a still from a custom open for a network upfront presentation.
This was filmed at the network utilizing the studio, master control, and a few of the edit bays.
The presentation went over so well that we repurposed the footage as a fall launch campaign to introduce all of the new programming coming to the network.

Star Trek – Walter Koenig
Here’s a still from a series of interstitials produced to promote the anniversary of Star Trek. Partnering with Kennedy Space Center, production took place around the complex. We utilized many actors that have appeared in all of the Star Trek series, hey were great people to work with and took much pride in delivering their lines.

Hard Rock Live Concert
This was a fun and challenging project. A radio station was putting on a concert at Hard Rock Live and we teamed up with them to create interstitials to air during a special block of programming.
I brought in a camera crew to follow all the band members around and to videotape the entire concert. Everyone was firing on all cylinders for this production and it came out great.
Post took a bit because of the amount of footage shot and trying to find the right stories and songs for air, but, it was well worth it. The campaign was received very well.
